Hold the touch panel for a couple of seconds and the light moves through three colour temperatures. Each one has a job, and picking the right one is the difference between a lamp you keep and one you put in a drawer.

Touch It, Or Use The Remote

The whole interface is one touch panel, and there is nothing to learn. This version also ships with a remote, which matters more than it sounds once the lamp is mounted above head height or behind a headboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does one charge actually last?

Up to twenty hours, but that figure is for the lowest brightness in reading mode, so treat it as the best case rather than the norm. On medium or high it will be a good deal less. A full charge takes three to four hours over Type-C and the cable is in the box. For most people reading an hour or two a night, that works out at a charge every few weeks.

Which colour temperature should I pick?

You get all three, so you are not choosing at checkout. As a rule: 2700K warm for a bedside, 4000K natural for a desk or dressing table, 5700K cool white for wardrobes, mirrors and anything detailed. If you only ever use one, most people settle on warm in a bedroom and natural everywhere else.

How does the remote work, and is it included?

It is included with this version. It repeats the brightness and colour controls from the touch panel, and adds a sleep timer you cannot set from the lamp itself, at 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes. Worth having if the light ends up above head height or behind a headboard, where reaching the touch panel means getting out of bed.

Does it need drilling or any wiring?

No wiring at all, and no electrician. It is fully cordless and charges over Type-C. It comes with a wall plate to fix it in position, but because the head is magnetic you can also simply stand it on a shelf or bedside table and never fix anything, which suits a rented flat.

Is it bright enough to be the only light?

For reading in a chair or in bed, comfortably. As the only light in a whole room, no, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The manufacturer does not publish a lumen figure so we will not invent one. Think of it as a task light that puts a controlled pool where you need it, not a ceiling replacement.

Specifications and full description

What it is

A cordless wall light built around reading. It mounts without a single cable, charges over Type-C, and puts a controllable pool of light exactly where you want it, which is usually over a page and not across the whole room.

The head sits on a magnetic ball joint and turns a full 360 degrees, so the same lamp works over a bed, beside a reading chair, above a desk, inside a wardrobe or on a stair wall.

Three brightness levels, three whites

A single tap on the head switches it on and cycles brightness through low, medium and high. Hold the same spot for a couple of seconds and it moves through three colour temperatures.

Those three are worth understanding, because it is the difference between a lamp you keep and one you put in a drawer. 2700K warm is the tone of an old filament bulb and belongs at a bedside, where cooler light will keep you awake. 4000K natural is neutral daylight, good over a desk or a dressing table where you want to see colour honestly without it feeling clinical. 5700K cool white is bright and blue-leaning, which is right for detailed work, a wardrobe, a garage shelf or a makeup mirror, and wrong for a bedroom.

A remote as well as the touch control

This version ships with a remote, which matters more than it sounds once the lamp is mounted above head height. It repeats the brightness and colour controls, and adds a sleep timer of 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes, so it can switch itself off after you have fallen asleep rather than burning through the battery until morning.

Cordless, and it holds its position

The 2000mAh battery charges over Type-C in three to four hours and runs for up to twenty hours in the lowest brightness reading mode. Higher settings draw more, so treat twenty hours as the best case rather than the norm. The Type-C cable is supplied.

The magnetic mount is the other half of the design. The head lifts off the wall plate entirely, so you can take it to a bookshelf or a cupboard and put it back, and the joint is stiff enough to hold an angle rather than sagging down the wall over a fortnight of use.

Where it works

Bedsides and bunk beds, reading chairs, desks and dressing tables, stair walls, wardrobes, hallways, rented flats where drilling into the wiring is not an option, and anywhere you want light without an electrician. It mounts with the plate supplied, or sits on a flat surface if you would rather not fix it at all.
