Will this work with my existing fittings?

Anything in the outdoor range is weather rated. Indoor pieces are not, so keep those under cover.

Does it need any drilling?
No. It clips on, so a fence panel, gutter lip, balcony rail or shed edge all work. That also means you can reposition it in seconds if the first spot is wrong.
How does the sensor behave?
It uses infrared sensing and brightens when someone comes close. The manufacturer does not publish a detection range or angle, so we are not going to quote one. Buyers typically report it picking people up from a few metres.
Where should I mount it?
Somewhere the solar panel gets direct sun during the day and the sensor faces the route people actually walk. Panel to the sky, sensor to the path.
Can I leave it out all year?
With one caveat. It is rated IP44, which covers splashing rain but not driving rain or jet spray, so it belongs under a porch, an overhang, a shed eave or a balcony rather than fully exposed. For an open position in a British winter, the Sentry and the Beacon are both IP65.
Is it bright enough for security?
It is a courtyard and pathway light rather than a floodlight. Good for a doorway, a bin store, a side return or a set of steps, not for lighting a whole driveway.
