Mount it facing the direction people actually approach from rather than across their path, since a sensor pointed sideways will often let someone walk by underneath it without triggering.
How long does a charge last?
The manufacturer publishes no battery capacity, charge time or run time, so we will not put a number on it. What we can say is that the mode matters more than anything: used as a motion sensor it only draws power for the seconds it is lit, which lasts a very long time, while leaving it on constantly will drain it within an evening or two.
Does it need any wiring?
None at all. It charges over USB with the supplied cable and holds to the wall magnetically, so there is nothing to screw in and no hole to drill. That makes it a sensible choice for a rented flat, a fitted wardrobe or anywhere you would rather not make a permanent fixing. It lifts straight off the mount when it needs charging.
